Revamp Your Body Care Routine: Embracing New Skincare Rituals for Spring and Summer

Summer is almost here and we’re no longer covering up to shield from the weather! For some, now is a time we may realize how neglected our skin may be. Our face (and maybe hands) get all the care and glory compared to the rest of our body since it has to endure the Winter elements a bit more and it’s the first thing people notice. Therefore, we may slack off a bit in taking care as good of care of the skin on the rest of our body. Taking care of our entire body just as well as our face, neck and decollate is important because skin is the body’s largest organ and acts as a protective barrier against external elements.

To approach skincare for the body, you can start by using a gentle cleanser to remove dirt and oil, followed by a moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated. Exfoliating regularly can help remove dead skin cells and promote cell turnover. Additionally, using sunscreen daily can protect your skin from harmful UV rays, UVA being the most damaging. It’s also important to stay hydrated, eat a balanced diet, and get enough sleep for overall skin health. Your skin reflects what is going on in the inside, physically and mentally. So take care of yourself holistically. Additionally, taking care of your skin during this season of Spring may include switching up to a lighter moisturizer, a gentler cleanser to avoid stripping the skin of natural oils, incorporating products with SPF on a daily basis now that the sun is out, staying hydrated.

We all have our trusted go-to products and brands. However, it’s a new season which can stimulate the desire for new scents of Spring and Summer. This will automatically have us looking for skin-spiration of what we can use for our body care this season. Making self-care a fun-loving time in the bath, the shower and in front of the mirror, not to mention the pool, as we curate our skincare rituals for a new season of awakening our sun-kissed souls. We can also share this moment with family and friends, having a face and body care night in, sharing all out ideas and tips while engaging in self-love and pampering.

Check out a few body skincare brands that I love and recommend here! These recommendations can get your started if you’re not sure of where to start with a body care routine or maybe just looking for something new to try out.
